6 & Under/T-Ball and Modified T-Ball

Hitting, catching, and learning field positions are the focus. There is usually one practice during a weekday evening, and a weekend game. Children are required to bring their own glove. All other equipment is provided, but children may choose to bring their own bat and batting helmet as well.

8 & Under Coach Pitch

By this age, children are able to hit pitches from their respective coaches, and there is more emphasis on throwing, catching, and hitting with precision. There is additional emphasis on throwing as by 10 & Under, the children will start pitching. There is still usually one practice during a weekday evening and a weekend game. Children are required to bring their own glove. All other equipment is provided, but children may choose to bring their own bat and batting helmet as well.

10 & Under Kid Pitch

Coaches for this league are focusing on additional rules of the game, stealing protocol, pitching precision, and accuracy in both offense and defense positions. Practices are usually once per week, and the number of games can vary from 1-3 per week. Children are required to bring their own glove and bat. All other equipment is provided. Boys who are in the role of catcher are required to wear an athletic cup for protection.

12 & Under Little League

This league builds upon the fundamentals taught at the 10 & Under level. The pitching distance expands from 46 to 50 feet. The distance between bases increases from 60 to 70 feet. Base runners can now lead off as well as steal any base (including home plate). Pitchers will learn to throw from the stretch and pick off base runners. The infield fly rule and balks are introduced as well at this level. In the spring, each team plays a 15-game schedule. Standings are maintained, and all teams make the playoffs. In the fall, there is a 12-game schedule, but standings are not kept. Therefore, there are no playoffs in the fall. Team practices and home games take place at Bell Acres field.

14 & Under Pony League

14 & Under Pony is the transition league as players migrate from the “youth” leagues to a “young adult” league. The pitching distance expands from 50 to 54 feet, and the pitcher’s mound has a higher slope than those in the youth leagues. The distance between bases increases from 70 to 80 feet. In the spring, each team will play a 14-16 game schedule. Standings are maintained, and all teams make the playoffs. In the fall, 12-14 games take place, but standings are not kept. Therefore, there are no playoffs in the fall. Team practices and home games take place at the Esmark field in Bell Acres.

17 & Under Colt Baseball

17 & Under Colt baseball is designed for high school aged players interested in competitive play using high school field dimensions and similar rules. The leagues start after the high school season ends to allow varsity and JV players to sign on to community based teams. Games are played on high school fields and often involve travel times up to one hour. The season ends with playoffs mid to late July. Players must be experienced but do not need to be playing for their schools.

19 & Under Baseball

19 & Under baseball is designed to attract experienced players interested in playing after their last year in high school. The leagues start after the high school season, play on high school fields, and continues through most of July. Often, the leagues use wooden bats or provide other interesting opportunities for serious players.
