Project Overview and Timeline

Overview
The Fields at Bell Acres complex will support fields for youth recreation programs that include baseball, softball, soccer, etc. and will look to incorporate artificial turf where possible in order to expand field use when natural grass will not support play.  If the topography allows, the placement of a “bubble” on the site will be considered  to provide a year-round training facility for the programs.

The project will also include spectator seating, scoreboards, dugouts, a concession stand and parking lots. QVRA intends to expand the future use of the complex so that community outreach programs such as after-school activities and summer day camps could be added to its offerings. The budget for the project is projected to be $5 million. QVRA estimates that 5-8% of the budget will be set aside as an endowment to help fund the annual cost of maintaining the fields and on-site expenses. Over time, QVRA intends for The Fields at Bell Acres to be self-sustaining through program revenue, hosting of tournaments, and concession stand revenue.

Timeline
QVRA will break ground on the site in the Fall of 2008, and begin rolling out fields for play as early as Fall 2009. The grand opening of the complex will be held in the Spring 2010.
