QVRA News
May 26th, 2008 - QVRA is marching in the Memorial Day Parade! If any of our members are in town and would like to join us, then check with your coach on the details. The parade is Monday morning, May 26th. Hope to see you there!
May 23rd, 2008 - Questions have surfaced about our efforts to centralize efforts to maintain fields across all sports. This was our first season trying to coordinate this process and it took a month or two to share information and to see what worked the best. Please visit our FFM updates for more information.
May 22nd, 2008 - The Fields at Bell Acres layout has been posted on the site. The layout is portrayed using both a spring and fall view. When looking at the pictures, imagine the flexibility the Field Scheduler will have when organizing the logistics for multiple programs. The logic behind providing both views is to suggest maximum usage by sport. The reality will be that all sports will be using some of the the same spaces sequentially during the evening or week-end day. Additionally, our hope is to place synthetic turf on some of the fields to help reduce cancellations caused by rainouts or poor field conditions.
May 19th, 2008 - The Annual Membership meeting has been scheduled for Monday, July 21st, 2008 at the QVMS Community Room. Please click here for our Board Meeting Schedule. More information will be coming out in the next few weeks.
May 14th, 2008 - The Annual Membership meeting has been postponed from February given the current workload of QVRA, QVSB and ORVFC. The meeting is currently re-scheduled tentatively for the July-August timeframe of this year. It will return to its regularly scheduled date in February, 2009.
May 12th, 2008 - Bids are currently being reviewed to remove the old fencing and miscellaneous debris around the old tennis courts. It is QVRA's desire to cleanup the area now as construction is not targeted to begin until November, 2008.
April 1st, 2008 - QVRA has placed orange fencing along the edge of one of the fields up at the Bell Acres site. This is simply to keep cars from driving up on to our playing fields. This is not a sign that construction has begun! QVRA is helping to maintain the FBA site but no decisions for construction have been finalized at this time.
March 15th, 2008 - QVRA is assuming control for maintenance of the Bell Acres property. All indications are the lease will be finalized as planned and given the start of the baseball, softball and soccer seasons - it was deemed a good time to initiate the transition.
