Coach Pitch - 8 & under
By this age, children are able to hit pitches from their respective coaches, and there is more emphasis on throwing, catching, and hitting with precision. There is still usually one practice and 1-2 games per week. Teams practice throughout the season to work on building fundamentals. Children are required to bring their own glove. All other equipment is provided, but children may choose to bring their own bat and batting helmet as well. Facemasks are not required, but highly suggested.
T-Ball & Modified T-Ball - 6 & under
Hitting, catching, and learning field positions are the focus. There is usually one practice during a weekday evening, and a weekend game. Children are required to bring their own glove. All other equipment is provided, but children may choose to bring their own bat and batting helmet as well.
Modified Fast Pitch - 10 & under
Coaches for this league focus on introducing pitching and stealing, while continuing to focus on fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Girls pitch to one another, but there are no walks. Coaches pitch once four balls have been thrown. Practices are usually 1-2 times per week, and the number of games can vary from 1-3 per week. Children are required to bring their own gloves. We suggest bringing your own bat and face mask but have shareable equipment for the teams. Teams play in the Greater Pittsburgh Girls Softball League.
